The therapeutic use of hops in Europe dates back to at least the ninth century. In North American aboriginal medicine traditions hops was used as a sedative, antirheumatic, analgesic, gynecological aid for breast and womb problems, and kidney and urinary aid & inflamed kidneys. In India, the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia recommends hops for restlessness associated with nervous tension, headache, and indigestion; and reports its actions a sedative, hypnotic, and antibacterial. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is used to treat insomnia, restlessness, dyspepsia, intestinal cramps, and lack of appetite. Hops is generally beneficial for restlessness, insomnia, mood disturbances, tensions, and anxiety.
Suggested use: Add 1 Tbsp. in a cup of boiling water. Steep for 5-10 minutes. Enjoy! Increase dosage if needed.
