Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) or Blue Water Lily is a sacred flower that has a long history of use by humans that dates back to Ancient Egypt. Traditionally, Blue Lotus was considered incredibly divine and sacred, it was often used to help achieve altered states of consciousness in rituals + ceremony. These are water-growing plants that come above the surface of the water and open during the day, and close and go back underwater at night.
