Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) or Blue Water Lily is a sacred flower that has a long history of use by humans that dates back to Ancient Egypt. Traditionally, Blue Lotus was considered incredibly divine and sacred, it was often used to help achieve altered states of consciousness in rituals + ceremony. These are water-growing plants that come above the surface of the water and open during the day, and close and go back underwater at night. Many believe this is a doctrine of signatures, indicating their affinity for the subconscious + dreamtime realms and connection to the intuition.
 
They are good medicine for renewal, in all the senses of the word. It is considered a sedative, mood enhancer, aphrodisiac and antispasmodic with an affinity for the kidneys, liver, heart, nervous system and skin. Energetically it is bitter, aromatic, and warm.

Suggested Use: Brew as a tea by adding 1 Tbsp. in a cup of boiling water. Infuse for 5 min. Enjoy! Increased dosage if needed.
